Description

Handles the management and administration of the Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS), Voice Recognition and Dictaphone systems, related servers, storage, backup, workstations and associated peripherals of the RIS/PACS system for American Hospital Dubai and its clinics. Provides technology planning and implementation services in the field of imaging technologies, dictation, and reporting and voice recognition systems. Oversees the daily operations and maintenance of the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Voice recognition and Dictaphone systems. Works with the Medical Imaging Department to ensure the Technical Director, Radiologists and all end users of the systems are fully supported. Demonstrates a high level of technical expertise combined with clear insights into the business practice and exposure to industry best practices.

Responsibilities

Analyses the requirements (technical and functional) and suggests innovative solutions adhering to the industry's best practices. Assists the vendors and user groups in designing an appropriate workflow and writing documentation. Performs document testing of all procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability. Reviews existing systems, system workflow and IT/Business process to evaluate effectiveness and suggest and implement improvements. Develops new systems/processes to improve business efficiency, productivity and patient/employee satisfaction. Performs application testing, implementation, system integration, system configuration, system customization, upgrades/updates, user training, managing user access, ensuring high availability of applications, and other duties as assigned. Oversees project planning, project documentation, training documentation, change control procedures and escalations in case of any deviations for the assigned projects/tasks Responsibilities include working on various new projects related to RIS/PACS and other related imaging applications. Performs configuration of new or demo modalities and troubleshoots configuration issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Medical Technology, Radiology or a related field preferred or Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of Radiologic Technology or similar background Certified PACS System Analyst (CPSA) Certified DICOM Integration Professional (CDIP) Nuance PowerScribe trained Certified in Imaging Informatics, or actual PACS system administration preferred Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in a healthcare environment on Medical Imaging technologies/RIS/PACS. Experience and training with at least one (1) PACS/RIS system and one voice recognition/ dictation system administration. Knowledge of application functionality, reporting capability, interfacing, dictionary build and integration with Hospital Information System. Skills in decision-making as appropriate when evaluating system improvements and determining the feasibility and advisability of system changes. Skills in communication and interpersonal to effectively interact and work with a diverse workforce at all levels of the organization, system users, management and vendors. Ability to successfully organize and lead large complex projects. Ability to display a professional demeanor and excellent.
